Simone Hine, Director
Simone is a founding director of Beam Contemporary, and is also an artist, writer and curator. She has been exhibiting as an artist nationally for over ten years in numerous solo and group shows. Solo exhibitions include the Institute of Modern Art (2002), Brisbane Powerhouse (2004), Blindside (2009), Kings ARI (2009 & 2011) and the George Paton Gallery (2010). Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (1999), Metro Arts (2000, 2005, 2006), the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane (2001, 2003, 2004), the Art Gallery of Queensland (2002), Blindside (2005), Level ARI (2010), Kings ARI (2010) and the QUT Art Museum (2012), amongst others, and was part of the Time-Lapse Mega Mix at Federation Square in 2010. She has curated exhibitions at Metro Arts, Level ARI, Boxcopy and Screen Space. Simone graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons) from QUT and received a University Medal. The recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award, Simone is currently completing a practice-led PhD in Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne. Simone is also a founding and current director of Screen Space, a not-for-profit gallery also located in Guildford Lane.

Kyle Weise, Director
Kyle is a founding director of Beam Contemporary. He has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the University of Queensland, and received a University Medal. He is currently a PhD candidate in Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne and is the recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award. Kyle has presented his research on visual culture at international conferences in England, New Zealand, Turkey and throughout the USA, and has written catalogue essays and reviews of exhibitions around Australia. He is also a founding and current director of the not-for-profit Melbourne gallery Screen Space.
