Kawita Vatanajyankur
Play
29 March - 26 April 2014
Beam Contemporary is excited to present, Play, a suite of new video works by Kawita Vatanajyankur. These bold performance-based videos continue Vatanajyankur’s exploration of the domestic environment. Set against intensely bright and colourful backdrops, the videos entangle objects and bodies in ways that are uncanny, humorous and often disturbing.
Kawita Vatanajyankur was born in Bangkok, Thailand and graduated from RMIT University with distinction in 2011. She has held solo exhibitions at spaces such as First Site Gallery (2011), Seventh (2012), Trocadero Art Space (2012) and the Centre for Contemporary Photography (2013). Play is her second solo exhibition at Beam Contemporary.
