Kim Demuth
Camino
9 September - 2 October 2010
Kim Demuth’s Camino was the inaugural exhibition at Beam Contemporary. With Camino, Demuth presents a series of unique photographic objects inspired by his journey across Spain on the El Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Using photographs taken during this 900km walk as his raw material, Demuth then combines, alters and transforms these photographic fragments. The resulting image-objects are no longer simply documents of the walk, but instead create an almost dream-like space that lies somewhere between fiction and reality. These visions beckon the viewer to enter their constructed world.
This exhibition travelled to Artspace Mackay in 2011.
