Kim Demuth
Kim Demuth creates photographic-based sculptures that draw on traditions of optical illusion and the exploration of the physiology of human perception. His work often explores and constructs imaginary environments that are obscure reflections of the outer world. Since his solo show at The Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, in 2003, Demuth has had numerous solo shows and contributed to group shows including Turn Around, Schwartz Gallery, London (2011); Open Sky, Metro Arts, Brisbane (2011), Photo LA, Los Angeles (2008, 2010), Brave New World, Queensland Centre for Photography (2010) and Temperature, Museum of Brisbane (2004). In 2005 Demuth received the Australia Council’s studio residency in Barcelona.
